D2C Branding

A project to launch novel 3D body-scan jeans concept to the HK market. We branded every possible surface of the retail experience, from the pop-up booth at Landmark, to a 12 foot denim mural installation and custom merchandise.

About the Project

About Project

How do you convince a conservative market to purchase jeans they cannot see beforehand? Hint: get them to gift it instead

I was signed onto unspun as a sustainability analyst - to enhance their fabric portfolio by sourcing suppliers and setting new targets. I quickly realised that circularity also involves design - creating readable care labels, innovating new ways to close the loop, and above all, pushing good quality, low emission fabrics front and centre to consumers

When tasked with designing gift kits for editors around the world, I designed a cover out of scrap denim. A team of 3 hand-sewed 40 denim kit covers in-house using a Jeanologia nano-machine to laser cut and print. These gift kits were invites for unspun’s app launch. For the launch, I designed a denim mural piece to pay homage to water-saving denim, as well as denim keychains for invitees to wear during the event

"I would hire Laila again in a heartbeat and put her in a user experience role where she has focused functional goals, and have no doubt she will develop into a thoughtful team leader quickly. It is with very mixed emotions that we are parting ways so that she can follow her other pursuits."
